Trim Levels

The Ram 1500 is available in seven trims: Tradesman, Big Horn, Rebel, Laramie, Longhorn, Limited Longhorn, and TRX. The base Tradesman starts you off with standard features like power-adjustable heated exterior mirrors, black bumpers and door handles, 18-inch steel wheels, and automatic headlights. The Big Horn has a chrome bumper and 18-inch aluminum wheels. On the Rebel, you get a power-sliding rear window, a Class IV trailer-towing hitch, LED exterior lighting, and underbody skid plates.

Moving up to the Laramie adds power-sliding side mirrors, exterior chrome accents, and LED headlights. Choosing the Longhorn trim gives you a spray-in bed liner, a power tailgate release, 20-inch aluminum wheels, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and in-bed lighting. The premier Limited Longhorn gets you luxurious features like power-deployable running boards. Lastly, the off-road-ready TRX adds 35-inch all-terrain tires, flared fenders, a performance exhaust system built into the useful hood scoop, and amber LED lights.

Engine

Four engine options are available for the Ram 1500 to meet your needs, and all are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The base engine is a 3.6-liter V-6 engine fitted with Ram's eTorque system and puts out 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque. Next up is the well-known 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine churning 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. The eTorque system is offered as an option.

The third engine choice is the 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine that puts out 260 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque. The final engine is exclusive to the TRX and is a powerful 6.2-liter V-8 supercharged engine that will push out an astonishing 702 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque.

Performance

The Ram 1500 offers max towing capacities from 6,120 to 12,750 pounds, dependent upon the engine and trim you choose. In addition, the maximum payload capacity, ranging from 1,225 to 2,325 pounds, allows you to haul even more of your gear. The standard premium-quality coil springs offer a great ride, but you can opt for the air-spring suspension to get the best-in-class ride quality.
