Trim Levels

The Chevy Colorado is available in four trims: WT (Work Truck), LT, Z71, and ZR2. The Colorado has two cabs available, extended and crew cab. If you choose the crew cab, you can get a short or long bed. The spartan WT features 17-inch Ultra Silver painted wheels, halogen headlights, a CornerStep rear bumper, and cab-mounted cargo lights. Opting for the LT gives you 17-inch Blade Silver wheels along with body-color door handles, and body-color power mirrors.

The Z71 gets you some upgrades. These include manual rear sliding windows, body-color heated power mirrors, an EZ-Lift and Lower tailgate, and 17-inch all-terrain wheels. The ZR2 is off-road ready and adds a black rear bumper, a spray-on bedliner, and 17-inch Graphite and Oxide Gold wheels. In addition, the ZR2 also provides more ground clearance compared to the other trims.

Engine

You have three engine options for the Chevrolet Colorado, depending on the cab size you pick. Choosing the extended cab will get you a 2.5-liter four-cylinder matched to a six-speed automatic transmission for 200 horsepower and 191 pound-feet of torque. The crew cab features a 3.6-liter V-6 engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission that produces 308 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque. There's also a diesel option available as a 2.8-liter turbo-diesel four-cylinder that delivers 181 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque.

Performance

The standard drive train is a rear-wheel-drive system, but if you want to tackle tougher terrain or inclement weather, you can get the all-wheel-drive system. Going for the LT or Z71 grants access to a Trail Boss package which adds a 1-inch suspension leveling kit, red recovery hooks, and performance skid plates. Maximum towing capacities for the Chevy Colorado is estimated at 3,500 pounds for the 2.5-liter four-cylinder and 7,000 pounds for the 3.6-liter V-6.

Interior

Once you slide into the Chevrolet Colorado, you're immediately surrounded by form and function. The WT starts with two USB ports, vinyl upholstery, a power-adjustable driver's seat, a 7-inch touch-screen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, and a six-speaker audio system. The WT has optional features like remote keyless entry and a Wi-Fi hot spot.

The LT gives you a power-recline driver's seat, an upgraded 8-inch touch screen, two additional USB ports, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, automatic climate control, and navigation. Meanwhile, the Z71 gets you leatherette upholstery, while the ZR2 has leather upholstery and an available wireless charging pad.

Chevrolet offers many driver-assistance and safety features for the Colorado. These include HD rear vision camera, forward collision alert, lane departure warning, and an advanced airbag system.
